Small exclusive villa, sleeping a couple plus two small children, with large private swimming pool (12x6m)
Casa di Terro is a cosy, private and well appointed little villa perfect for a couple or small family. This well restored farmhouse is set in a stunning position at the feet of the Sibillini mountains on the edge of a national park. The house retains its characteristic features such as terracotta floor tiles and beamed ceilings, combined with all modern comforts. Nestled close to the mountains great walks start from the very doorstep and a little further up the Alpine-like valley is an enchanting waterfall where guests have been known to take a refreshing open air shower in summer months. The waterfall then turns into a mountain stream and passes along the edge of the garden at Casa di Terro. The nearby village of Terro is little more than a hamlet but five minutes drive away is the pretty hill-top town of Sarnano, with a population of around 4,000 people and a popular destination for tourists in summer months, with a wide choice of restaurants, bars, shops and a nightclub. In the winter Sarnano is a base for skiers, who take advantage of the good snow conditions on the uncrowded ski slopes higher up the mountains. And the town is also noted for its curative natural springs, enticing many from the surrounding area to visit in search of salutary benefits. The weekly market in the town is also a good opportunity to stock up on local delicacies such as ciauscolo, the local salami, and various types of cheeses and even to take advantage of the tasty porchetta (roast pork) on sale in the piazza. The area is popular with walkers and skiers and any visit should include a walk in the mountains. Walking guide books in english are available in the local tourist information offices and offer picturesque walks for every level, from a leisurely stroll to a gruelling mountain trek.Good road links mean that guests are also within easy driving distance of the provincial capitals of Macerata and Ascoli Piceno and the seaside resorts dotted along the Adriatic Coast. While for those prefering to explore further inland the Umbria border is but a short drive away.
