Large luxury villa set among ancient olives and vineyards, sleeping up to 12 guests, with heated swimming pool (12x4m)
This splendid villa is found on a 120 hectare organic farming estate boasting some of the lovliest countryside in Marche and wonderful views across the Sibillini Mountains and several national parks. Solar and photovoltaic panels help provide electricity and hot water at the environmentally friendly holiday villa.
The property is surrounded by vineyards producing optimum wines using grapes such as merlot, montepulciano and cabernet sauvignon and is reached by a private country lane lined with a mix of cypresses, olives, mulberry trees and oaks. Free olive oil and red and white wine is provided in abundance to all our guests at Casa Carlo!
The villa is immersed in some of the most peaceful Marche countryside and is close to three national parks, Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga, Maiella and the Monti Sibillini, together providing a total of almost 3,000 sq km of incontaminated countryside and wildlife. Views from the property take in parts of all three of these parks and the mountains of Abruzzo, Marche-Umbria and Lazio.
The property is at the very centre of Italy in an area famed for its "buon vivere," history and culture.
Within 90 minutes drive, over and above the three parks, there are towns and cities of great cultural and historical importance and beauty - with historical figures and legends creating a magical sense of history, among them St Francis of Assisi, the mythical Sybil, Guerrin Meschino, master painter Raffael and poet Giacomo Leopardi of Recanati.
Fine cuisine, good wines and local festivals and sagras are central to this part of Marche and are celebrated all year round, providing the visitor with a varied choice of events to witness and enjoy - some Christian and some pagan in origin but all accompanied by culinary delights.
For music lovers summer events include Umbria Jazz and Pescara Jazz, among the most important jazz festivals in Europe
On the estate itself tranquility is paramount but as well as relaxing by the pool or on the shaded terrace there are also various acitivities close by, including trekking on horseback down to the Adriatic Coast. The property also has a number of bikes stationed at the beach for the exclusive us of Casa Carlo's guests. In low season the pool can also be heated but in the high summer months it is not needed. Great for April and early May.
A little further afield is the 18 hole golf course within an hour's drive.
Also available for touring trips are various classic motorbikes and an 86 year-old 35ft yawl yacht moored at nearby San Benedetto del Tronto and originally owned by the family of Francis Chichester in Glasgow.
Mountain bike excursions can be undertaken and there is some wonderful winter skiing, with the Abruzzo mountains providing some of the heaviest sustained snowfalls in Italy.
And of course the Adriatic Coast just ten minutes drive away provides an enormous choice of beaches - from the secretive sandy coves of the Conero Riviera south of Ancona to the large sandy umbrella-filled beaches popular with Italian holiday makers around San Benedetto and Grottammare.
Guests of Casa Carlo are also treated to a number of sunbeds and umbrellas at a local beach chalet and restaurant called Il Grecale, which produces excellent seafood dishes and is a wonderful place to spend your days on the coast. The beach bikes for your exclusive use are also located here.
Meanwhile back at the villa there is a wonderful addition to the property, completed in early 2014 - a glass dome covered large jacuzzi in the garden right next to the house with lots of space to relax or take the plunge!

Pros:I stayed at this beautiful villa for two weeks with my husband and three children (11,19,21). We had a fabulous family vacation! The villa was beautiful and very well equipped with everything you could need; however, if you are missing something the owners will have it for you in a jiffy. The wine and olive oil were delicious. We had the housekeeper come daily, which may have been the best part of the trip for me! She did laundry, cleaned, and cooked local specialties. Just thinking about the food in Italy makes me hungry. We enjoyed the local towns and restaurants that Carlo suggested. We visited the beach, many le Marche towns, and historical ruins. Favorite towns were Macerata and Urbs Salvia. We also enjoyed the outlet shoe shopping. What merchandise! My sons did some hiking and we thought the beach club at Grottammare was wonderful. In addition to the beach you can eat at Il Grecale...we did more than once. Biking along the "boardwalk" was a blast. My sons now want to put in a sauna at home because they loved the one at the villa so much. Don't wait another minute. Book this villa before it's gone!

Pros:We can not praise this villa enough. We were a family of 8 adults 2 children 2 babies and a dog and there was ample space for all. The villa had a most picturesque outlook and being situated at the end of a long lane, very quiet. It had everything we could want - lovely clean pool with ample sun beds, jacquzi, gardens, plenty of terracing for outdoor dining and delicious wine and olive oil on tap! The host was exceptionally helpful and friendly. He provided us with a wonderful cook who served us 2 exquisite meals in the villa. All in all a superb family holiday. Thanks again.
